From Wellbeing to Walkthroughs: Why I’ve Joined SwiftReporter

For over a decade, my work has centred on helping people live better—through writing, retreats, talks, and building businesses rooted in wellbeing. I’ve worked with organisations across industries, from sustainability to mental health to leadership, always with the same focus: how do we make life more human, more fulfilling, more connected?

Now, I’m stepping into a new chapter—joining SwiftReporter as co-founder.

It might seem like a leap—from running wellbeing retreats and giving talks on purpose, to leading a property inspection software company. But for me, it’s the same mission, just applied in a new, powerful context: helping real people get home faster, with less stress, and more time for what really matters.

Where It All Started

It began like many good things do—over a few coffees and a beachside chat.

Stephen, a good friend and a brilliant software developer (and fellow ocean swimmer), shared what he’d been quietly working on. He’d heard one too many complaints from his mate Connor, a long-time building inspector, about the clunky, time-wasting tools inspectors were forced to use. So Stephen did what he does best: he built something better.

What started as a simple promise—“I can build that better”—quickly became a working prototype that inspectors actually loved using. When Stephen showed it to me, I saw something more than just smart code. I saw purpose. I saw potential. And I saw an opportunity to help.

Four long blacks later, SwiftReporter had its second co-founder.

Why SwiftReporter Matters

SwiftReporter is a new kind of building inspection software—designed not just for efficiency, but for human wellbeing. Yes, we’re making the fastest, simplest, most intuitive inspection reporting tool in Australia. But beneath that? We’re building a company driven by values.

Our vision is simple:
Help first. Build tools that make inspectors’ lives easier.
Care deeply. About the dads, sons, mums, and mates behind the job title.
Think long-term. Create a business culture that values people, purpose, and presence over pressure.

Because while inspectors are the ones using our tools, it’s their families who feel the impact too. If SwiftReporter can help someone get home 30 minutes earlier, a little less stressed, with more energy to play with the kids, go for a run, or jump in the ocean—that’s a win we’ll celebrate every day.

What This Means for My Work

SwiftReporter doesn’t mark the end of my work in wellbeing—it expands it.
I’ll continue to write, speak, and run retreats. I’ll still be exploring what it means to live well, lead well, and connect more deeply with each other and ourselves.

But now, I get to bring those principles into an entirely new industry—one where culture is often overlooked, stress is high, and time is short. I’ll be helping build a company that walks its talk—caring for its people, building strong relationships, and leading with integrity.

This isn’t just about tech. It’s about building a better working life for building inspectors, real estate professionals, and anyone out there doing the hard yards, day in and day out.

What’s Next?

We’re rolling out SwiftReporter’s 30-day free trial for inspectors across Australia. If you know someone in the industry who’s still using clunky systems or spending hours stuck at the laptop instead of with their family, send them our way.

Final Thoughts

This new venture is exciting—but it’s not a departure from who I am.
It’s an extension of the same vision: to serve, to simplify, and to support people in living fuller, more meaningful lives.

Whether I’m leading a team at SwiftReporter, running a wellbeing retreat, or simply having a deep conversation over coffee, the aim is the same:

Help first. Build well. Live deeply.

If you're an inspector, real estate pro, tech investor, or just someone curious about where wellbeing and software meet—I'd love to connect.

Here’s to the next chapter.
