Repair: What Have We Stopped Being Willing to Repair? On desire, consumption, attention and the things we choose to keep.
Why do we replace things so quickly?
A jacket gets a hole. Something gets old. Something stops feeling new.
So we replace it.
But what happens when we start applying that logic beyond the things we own?
Our attention. Our relationships. Our work. Ourselves.
Maybe repair asks something different of us: to slow down, pay attention, tolerate imperfection and decide whether something is actually broken—or simply difficult.
What have we stopped being willing to repair?
This Field Note is the beginning of the thought, not the conclusion.
