Recovery & Sleep
If you smash yourself in the gym but scroll emails until midnight, your cortisol stays spiked and you do not recover. The physical work means nothing without the decompression.
The Nightly Protocol
Emails are sent. Kids are asleep. Connect with your partner. Then, transition the nervous system to secure a deep, restorative sleep. This flow is mandatory.
Physical Release (10 Mins)
Stretch, foam roll, or use a massage gun. Your goal is to flush the tension out of the muscles you broke down earlier today. Don't rush this.
Mental Release (10 Mins)
A nightly sitting meditation. Let the day go. Accept what got done and what didn't. Do not carry tomorrow's problems into tonight's sleep.
The Input
Read a physical book. Zero screens, zero scrolling, zero blue light. Let the brain wind down naturally until sleep takes over.
The Bookshelf
What you feed your mind before sleep dictates your subconscious processing. Stick to philosophy, biographies, or deep-dive non-fiction. Leave the news and the hyper-stimulation outside the bedroom.
